Being the fashionably furry band of misfits that we are here at Cyclone World HQ, we like to keep it fresh. And when we're not busy grooming our Lumber-licious facial hairs with artisinal beard oil, we like to ride bikes.
We recently received our first shipment of HIPLOK, a highly innovative series of locks designed to be easily carried when riding while providing high security in an urban setting. There are three basic designs chain, cable and D-lock. Two chain locks (one heavy-duty and one lite) and the one cable lock are all designed to be worn around the waist when riding. The two D-locks (one with, one without an accessory locking cable) are designed to be clipped to the belt or carried in a pocket. Great designer colors compliment the cool designs! Check out the videos and then call your rep today!
We recently began updating our Cyclone house branded product package designs. Updates include an assortment of grips, "Soul Roll" bar tapes and seatposts. The new package designs feature the product name boldly displayed in a fat, bright yellow font. We wanted to be sure it could be seen from across the shop, or down the block, and to eliminate any possible confusion about what each product is. All packages also feature our signature crazy bike people illustrations who may or may not be loosely based on staff members, but definitely represent the diverse parade of riders we see buzzing around Portland daily. Look for Tall Bike Guy, Crazy Guy, Happy Business Man, the Bodybuilder, a few Road Racers, the Hippie Chick, an Apple Chucker and more. There's still a few house items in older packaging, but once those are gone these new packages will take their place. New tubes with updated packaging should land any day now, we'll be sure to share pics.
More pictures after the jump.
Some staff thoughts on a couple of popular tires: The Rubena Scylla 29er for all terrain and the Schwalbe Ultremo for road.
These tires rock. Great traction in the dirt, corner well and have very low rolling resistance…even on the street! If you want more bite and won’t ever use them on the road the Kratos is a better choice from Rubena. If you want a fast rolling XC tire that you can ride to the trail, on the trail, and back from the trail, try the Scylla. Great for car-less types like myself.
Also I believe a Scylla is some sort of multi headed sea monster, so…
