Since Winter has decided to not show up this year in Oregon, we've been out pounding the local trails while most of America is still all covered up in snow. And even though we're adding new tire lines to our catalog faster than you can say "Raspberry Scones", one of our long time faves, Rubena Tires, continue to hold a special place in our vulcanized hearts.
We heard a lot of folks talking about Orange Seal and we immediately jumped in to find out what all of the hubbub was all about. The new face in the sealant business, Orange Seal uses premium latex, “nanites” or solid particles that “clot” punctures, is completely biodegradable, and is proven to seal a puncture up to 1/4" (watch video here). This stuff really works!
Some staff thoughts on a couple of popular tires: The Rubena Scylla 29er for all terrain and the Schwalbe Ultremo for road.
These tires rock. Great traction in the dirt, corner well and have very low rolling resistance…even on the street! If you want more bite and won’t ever use them on the road the Kratos is a better choice from Rubena. If you want a fast rolling XC tire that you can ride to the trail, on the trail, and back from the trail, try the Scylla. Great for car-less types like myself.
Also I believe a Scylla is some sort of multi headed sea monster, so…
